Melissa started writing poetry when she was 18, but didn't publish her first book until she was 28. Her collection of poetry is a reflection of someone she used to be and writing it gave her the opportunity for healing and growth. 'Lose Me' is about overcoming a toxic relationship and the aftermath of the breakup. 'Last Kiss' is about losing someone and grief. 'A Love Like Ours' is about finding your soulmate and what it will feel like when it happens.
